EATING

Cornwall is a great place for amazing food and we always leave with full bellies. This is why we have dedicated a whole page to how you can do the same.

FAMILY FRIENDLY

There are so many family-friendly restaurants in Penzance you really won't get stuck. If you're interested in something different the Newlyn Meadery is a fun medieval-themed restaurant with a great atmosphere. Check for their booking process online.

FISH

If you don't like fish then this section is not for you!

With the sea on your doorstep and a fishing port in Newlyn you are never far away from amazing fresh fish.

Lewis' Fish & Chips in Newlyn - you won't regret the lemon pepper cod.

Warm up in Mr Billy's in Penzance with a heartwarming crab soup. There's also a selection of speciality teas.

The Rock Pool Cafe in Mousehole will serve you the best crab sandwiches with an even better view.

FRESH FISH

With the equipped kitchen why not pick up some fresh fish from Stevensons or Trelawneys.

LUNCHTIME HIDDEN TREASURES

These three recommendations below are great finds for that cafe stop for fresh food and a cup of tea.

HIDDEN HUT

Growing every year in popularity the hidden hut is right on the beach near Truro (1 hours drive away). They do fantastic simple lunches served from a small hut overlooking the sea. We love it so much we bought their recipe book!

Beware that it is a turn up and queue arrangement so get there very early!

DUKE STREET CAFE

A cute little cafe tucked into central Newlyn there is something on the menu for everyone using locally sourced products. Vegan options available.

The Honey Pot in Penzance serves a great range of fresh food and cakes that are locally sourced. This one in particular has a great vegan and vegetarian selection.

DATE NIGHT

A lovely restaurant for a long evening and great food is 2 Fore Street in Mousehole. Perfectly located by the sea to walk off that bottle of wine afterwards.

If you're happy to travel The Victoria Inn (pictured) is a fantastic country pub for a romantic evening.

Or why not take a picnic and wine to watch the sunset on Sennen beach?

OUR BEST OF

When visiting Cornwall, there are three things you must eat: an ice cream, pasty and cream tea. Still hotly debated and up for review - these are our best to date!

ICE CREAM

CORNISH PASTY

CREAM TEA

Jelberts in Newlyn every time! The set up is simple - secret recipe vanilla ice cream, clotted cream and a flake in whichever combination you fancy (Dan has the cream every time but not for me!)
Don't underestimate the simplicity of Jelbert's - just give it a try.

The famous Cornish pasty! The classic beef steak should not be missed out on and the vegetarian options are improving.

According to Dan's family, Lavender's is their favourite one! (Controversially I really don't like them...)

A great day out in Cornwall can involve a long walk and well deserved cream tea.

We're still on the hunt for the best one with fruit scones but our favourite so far is the hotel at Land's End with the most incredible view.
